2009 Varsity Men's Soccer Team Announced

After a grueling 12 days, we finally draw the preseason to a close here at Luther and name our 2009 Men's Varsity Soccer Team. A new group of freshmen as well as some important transfers have been added to the squad, and we are excited about seeing what we can do this season. There has been tremendous technical, tactical and physical growth in the players, and the coaching staff are excited to see that growth translated into on the field success. With grueling two-a-day training sessions, classroom sessions, as well as two preseason scrimmages against Hastings University from Nebraska as well as Grinnell College from here in Iowa , the Norse are learning a lot about what they can do and how good they can be. The Norse will look to lean on the leadership of our two senior captains Adam Pyzdrowski and Jimmy Laroque, and the team will work hard to ensure that our seniors leave a winning legacy for Luther Soccer. Our first official game is this coming Tuesday, September 1st, in Minneapolis, where there will be a Norse season opener alumni event held in the Twin Cities with a picnic and athletic events. Details for the event can be found here. We encourage anyone in the area to attend and come out to support the Luther Soccer and Volleyball teams open up their seasons. For even mor eup to date Luther Soccer updates, check out our Twitter sight, where our senior captains provide poignant updates about the team and out progress. We look forward to seeing some friendly faces in Minneapolis, more updates to follow here.
